Oh, no. While I do not doubt that there are some dark mages that go through such things it is my role as part of the Vestra House that put my taste buds to the grave. Being Lady Edelgard's shadow requires methods that are not magical and flashy in nature. It also requires me to be able to be survive things like poison for her sake. To shield her from her enemies is all well and good but it is far more useful to be a shield that can survive multiple hits rather than just the one.
